The 2019 FOOD AND WINE FESTIVAL at Disney California Adventure, at the Disneyland Resort, is underway! Here’s a brief overview of some of the food and merchandise, including the items we tried using the Sip & Savor Pass! The Sip & Savor pass is $54, or $49 for Annual Passholders. The pass has 8 tabs on it that can be exchanged for a food item or non-alcoholic drink at any festival booth, or at the participating restaurants (i.e. Paradise Garden Grill) where they’ll give you a smaller portion than the actual menu item. By doing the math, if the items you use your tabs on are more than $6.75 (non AP) or $6.13 (AP) you are getting a deal.

Remember, if a line for a booth’s cash register is long you can go to another booth with a short line and pay for any food you want at that location, and then bring your receipt to the counter of the booth that serves that food item. For example, the Craft Brews booth is always busy, but the Berry Patch has no crowd. We took our sip and savor pass to the Berry Patch and “paid” for the Pizza Egg Rolls without waiting in a line, and took our receipt directly to the Craft Brews booth to get the egg rolls.

I’m thinking of making a video that actually summarized what we liked and didn’t like about the food we tried.

Food we tried:
-Anaheim Chile Relleno Bites with Salsa Verde from Golden Dreams (so good, not spicy)
-Fried Artichokes with Blue Diamond Almond Breeze Lemon Aioli (always good, every year) from I Heart Artichokes
-Verlasso Sustainable Salmon Peruvian Poke with Cucumber-Lime Salad and Aji Verde Salsa (a little spicy, pretty good but not the best poke ever) from Peppers Cali-ente
-Ghost Pepper Mac N Cheese (pretty spicy, good if you can handle some heat) also from Peppers Cali-ente
-Pepperoni Pizza Egg Rolls with Marinara and Pesto (very good, kid friendly) from California Craft Brews
-Strawberry & Coconut Rice “Frushi” with Sweet Oikos Yogurt “Wasabi” Sauce (I didn’t love this…if it didn’t have the yogurt I would have liked it more. Sort of tastes like rice pudding with strawberry) from Berry Patch
-Asian-style Beef Barbacoa Tacos with Pickled Ginger (pretty good, mildly spicy…we added some tapatío) from LA Style
-BLT Chicharron Duro with Ranch Crema (super good, really just a fried wheat duro with BLT toppings, I added tapatío to make it spicier) from LA Style
